The Challenge

What do you do when you need to build a brand new website for a demanding design team, to a tight deadline, on a modest budget?

You go straight to Storyblok of course.

In September 2023, Catch was asked to design and build a new website for Voco – a leading consultancy firm based in New Zealand – to support the launch of their bright and playful new brand.

After years of using WordPress, Voco knew they needed a more flexible, intuitive and customisable digital platform that would allow them to present their new visual identity in the best possible way while giving their team more freedom to manage content without designers and developers getting involved.

They needed a modern, headless CMS, and they needed it quickly, with the brand launch locked in for mid-November 2023.

The Solution

Catch has built a number of websites in Storyblok recently—AA Smartfuel, Australian National Couriers—so the team knew it was the perfect solution for Voco’s needs.

It allows our designers to design without compromise. And it’s super easy for our developers to bring the design vision to life quickly and efficiently.

The Visual Editor is the perfect solution for client content teams to create beautiful-looking websites. And the Composable Content Blocks and Digital Asset Manager allow those same teams to construct pages to suit their content needs without any developer intervention.

The combined Catch and Voco team smashed the website project out of the park – delivering a beautiful new site on time and on budget.

It’s a massive step forward for Voco‘s digital experience and brings the playfulness and positivity of their new brand to life for everyone who engages with it.

More on the Voco rebrand

Voco are a team of passionate consultants who love nothing more than modernising and transforming Kiwi and Australian businesses. Their rebranding and a new website were a chance to transform how their own business was positioned for existing and prospective clients.

Voco have been operating since 2001, and their visual identity has been pretty consistent for most of that time. But over that same 20-year+ timeframe, their business has changed dramatically. And, in the last three years, they've made massive strides, growing the team to more than 40 people and developing a bigger, more diverse client portfolio.

They felt different internally. But they still looked and felt the same to the outside world. It was time for a change.

Rebranding a successful business is a big decision. So the team engaged local Brand Agency, Brand with Soul, to help them find the right direction.

The design team landed an expansive new design system that’s bright, bold and brave.

It uses a different colour for each Voco Practice to demonstrate the unique value each service offers to its clients. This allowed the Catch designers to create an intuitive browsing experience with distinctive, colour-coded Service pages across the website.

Voco are business transformation specialists. Their team of experienced consultants help some of the country’s biggest brands and government departments deliver large-scale digital transformation projects.

It's big and complex stuff. But changing how a business looks and feels can be just as transformational. It can bring a new energy to the team that pushes them to another level.

That’s what the Voco team are experiencing now, and we’re proud to have played a small role in setting up this successful Kiwi business for an even more successful future.
